The ‘5:2 Diet‘ a.k.a. the ‘Fast Diet‘ has spread like wildfire in recent months, with many celebrities publicly endorsing it-but does it work? In other words, they ‘fast’ – and that’s where the diet got it’s other name: ‘The Fast Diet.’ If it sounds a little scary, don’t worry: it’s not. Fasting merely consists of a calorie restriction to fewer than 400 calories for women or 600 calories for men. You can pick any two days a week to fast – though it’s a good idea not to schedule them in succession.

The cycle of less-normal-more in the dieter’s food intake mimics how many animals eat. It is very similar to the Paleo, or “caveman” diet, but not as restrictive.
